The best mom in the world!

Let me preface this blog post by saying that I love my mother, she made me who I am today, but this post is not about her.  This post is about my wife, Leisha, the best mother in the world (my mom is the other best mother in the world…).

So it has been a while since there has been any activity on our blog. I think everyone that actually looks at our blog is aware of our situation. For those who are not aware…here is the short version:

Our number 3 was due January 14th, 2013. When Leisha went in for her 38 week appointment we received the devastating news that our little boy’s heart wasn’t beating. Little Liam Dee Adams was born January 3rd, 2013. He was a perfect little boy, but he was needed back in heaven. Burying our son was the hardest thing we have ever done. It has now been a little over 4 months since Liam was called to be a missionary in Heaven. We miss him immensely, and wish he was here with us, but we know that he is busy elsewhere. We look forward to the day when we will be reunited.

Anyway, back to why Leisha is the best mother in the world…

Everyone who knows Leisha is aware of how amazing she is. No matter what is going on in her personal life she always puts everyone else first. Maybe she does it to take her mind off of her own struggles, or maybe she doesn’t even think about it, but I can’t remember a time when Leisha was selfish. There is nothing more important to her than her family. My phone is filled with texts of her and the girls doing silly things. Basically just being together (and making me feel jealous I am not with them…). The Friday before mother’s day I came home to a table filled with handmade cards for various “mother’s” in our life. She had helped the girls prepare cards for grandmas and great grandmas with the intention of spending “her day” delivering them. Most of mother’s day morning was spent getting ready for church. We tried to do our part by leaving Leisha alone to get ready and relax. Of course I had meetings before church so She had to take care of the girls. After church we stopped by Grami Anne’s to deliver a card. Then we hurried over to Moses Lake for dinner with Gramimi and Pop (Marion and Mike). Then we went over to visit my mom. We then stopped by Sweet Marie as well. (Our visit to Grandma D will be tonight...) By the time we finally headed home it was close to 9:00. The last thing we did was stop by little Liam’s gravesite. It was dark when we pulled into the cemetery. I stayed with the girls in the truck while they slept. I sat there thinking about all the moms in my life as I watched my sweet wife run out to her little boy. Not many women could spend their mother’s day trying to make other people feel special while inside they were aching for their lost one. I thought about my mom who had just sent a text to the whole family stating how blessed and happy she was to hear from each of her children. I felt so bad for Leisha as she had to go and visit Liam’s special spot in order to have that same mother’s day experience. How heart breaking it must be to be a mother of a sweet little angel. But that is why I love Leisha. Through all the trial and heartbreak of this experience she has been my rock and pushed forward with the knowledge that we will get to have our little boy again.

So that is why Leisha is the best mom in the world…because only the best moms can raise angels.

I love you Leisha! Happy mother’s day (yesterday…)!!!!!
