Just do it!

This last Sunday the 4th I was doing the girls hair and Richard asks if I want to take the girls to Seaside Oregon so they can play on the beach. After much deliberation we made the decision to "just do it!" and made a reservation right before church! So during the last hour Richard snuck back home to get some stuff ready while Nora took a quick nap on the floor.

We had what Richard would say "high speed chases and explosions" within the first 2 hours of our drive. Yes, Richard got pulled over by a police officer and Nora had a diaper malfunction. We changed Nora at Multnomah Falls and she was pretty excited about the waterfall.

We got up the next morning and headed to Seaside. The beach was a bit cold, but it didn't stop the girls from having a blast.

Emma posing by her smiley face.

I'm so glad this little peanut can walk now!

This is the first time she fell...she didn't know what to think of the sand.

When she did find out what she thought, she called me over for assistance.

Then after Seaside we drove up to Astoria where The Goonies was filmed and found Mikey's house.

Astoria!

This sign is right at the bottom of the hill to Mikey's house.

We thought it was funny that Emma just posed for us like that. She's got talent!

Mikey's house!

After that we said to each other "Mt. St. Helens is on the way right?" So we set a new course and drove to Mt. St. Helens. I had never been and the last time Richard went was in 1992ish. It was interesting to see the after affects of the eruption still there. It was also interesting to see all the trees coming in all uniformed...looked very "man made" in a cool way.

Mt. Rainier

On Saturday September 3 we took a drive with Roger and Nadine to Mt. Rainier. I had never been before and was so glad Roger talked us into it!

I hate posting pictures of myself, but this made me laugh.

Roger took this family picture of us. He has awesome skills.

If you ever ask Emma who Grandpa is she would respond with "Grandpa's my best Buddie!" Roger lets Emma do anything she want. He says "My job's not to say no." So their you have it. Here is a couple pictures of the buddies... Emma wanted to "feel" the water, so Roger told her to go ahead...Emma for some reason just walks right into the lake. What can you do but laugh!

Their is no taking Emma away from Grandpa...that is just a fact.

Grandpa letting Emma do a snow angle...with shorts on...again "it's not my job to say no."

Nora had fun walking with Daddy.

Best Buddies!

I told Richard to run up the path so I could take a picture of him. I thought he was going to tell me no, but he just took off with Nora. Not walking, running!

If you click on this picture you can see the "best buddies" and then Richard and Nora way in the back.

Nora is saying "Cheese"

Beautiful! Mt. Rainier is huge!

Wildflowers! I love Wildflowers!

So if you live in Washington and haven't gone to see Mr. Rainier, make sure you do.

Septermber 1

My Birthday was on the first, and I had a fun day.
The cake my Mom made me
This was at 8:30 at night! Emma could not go to bed without me blowing out a candle. She of course had to help me...and so did Nora.

I had to put this in as well...I got this idea from Pinterest (if you don't know what that is, don't ask! You will become sucked into a world of awesome ideas ,that you will never have the time or money to do!) Anyway, you strap a camera around your neck and put it on a self timer. I didn't have a lot of time to do this because it was right before bed time and getting dark. The look of pure joy on Emma's face makes me smile.

Nora...not so much.

So good.....but oh so bad!

Richard's brother Stuart was home for the summer and we were lucky enough to have him come over quite a bit. We usually just watched movies, ate popcorn. But one day Richard and I wanted to have a deep fry party with Stuart. So we bought some Twinkies, Oreos, and some Snickers and told Stuart of our plans. So the next time he came over we had ourselves a deep fry party!
Stuart and I getting ready to deep fry...

I think these are some Oreos...or they could be the bananas...who really knows! It was fresh oil but after the Snicker bars it looked pretty gross.

Stuart taking the reigns on the bad boy.

We think he liked it a little to much...
Love you Stuart! Thanks for coming over and gaining weight with us!

Scavenger Hunt

After the Adams reunion we had an awesome family scavenger hunt. Nadine is awesome at these things! We were split in two teams, then we had a list of things we had to do. Each team had a photographer, which was Kirsten and myself since we helped with the ideas. Teams were given a list of tasks to complete; a picture had to be taken as evidence of completion. Some of the tasks were...
~In the orchard across the ditch from home, find row 21 and build a human pyramid, using as many members of your team as possible, making sure to have the row number showing in the picture.
~Team picture doing the "Roger Dance" in front of any Willow Drive sign.
