Massachusetts here we come...and we did, and now we're back

WARNING: VERY LONG POST...MAY BE BORING TO SOME
For Richard's spring break we decided to go to Massachusetts and see the sites. We left on Monday the 16 and came back Thursday the 19. The first two nights we stayed in Middleborough, close to Cape Cod and the the last night we spent in Boston.
We spent all Tuesday driving Cape Cod. Here are a couple of pictures of what we did...
We like to take Mara's memory with us all around the world! (it was in Paris, but it was too cold to come out from under the winter coat...)
Plymouth Rock
Emma enjoying some play time in New Bedford.
A lighthouse in the middle of the water, who would of thunk?
It was fun seeing Cranberry fields.
We also enjoyed seeing the turtle crossing sign.
Wednesday we spent the whole day seeing Boston. Emma enjoyed the hotel view of the Leonard P. Zakim - Bunker Hill Bridge.
The Park Street Church
The State House
Who needs a map in Boston when all you have to do is follow the Red Brick line, also know as the Freedom Trail.
The cemeteries were pretty neat to see. This was the Granary Burying Grounds.
Paul Reveres Grave.
Hello Mr. Franklin
The Old South Meeting House
King's Chapel
Lucky for us my cousin Nikki is in Boston right now for a couple of months. We had fun going to their apartment and meeting Jonas for the first time. Nikki also came with us to the Aquarium and she took us to Mike's Pastry.
It was fun watching Jonas and Emma play.
This is Jonas trying to pull Emma's hair. He is so cute!
The New England Aquarium.
You don't even have to pay to see the seals...which was the coolest thing!
Emma had fun watching them pass right by her.
Emma liked seeing the penguins.
She wanted to take this one home, to bad it was stuck to the bench.
Emma touching a starfish. She was so cute! She just kept on doing it like it was the coolest thing.
Emma fell asleep in her stroller right after we left the aquarium.
Sorry the pictures are sideways...I didn't download them that way. Oh well! Nikki was told about this Mikes Pastry place so we went and had a Lobster Tail...it was pretty good and pretty big.
After we ate a couple of bites of our lobster tails we said goodbye to Nikki so she could get home and take care of Jonas. (Thanks Nikki for letting us hang with you for a couple of hours! Well see you in D.C. in the Fall!)
Paul Revere's house.
Mr. Paul Revere.
I had to add this one of Jonas, he liked the lobster tail cream!
Emma just kept on sleeping, which was pretty amazing because the sidewalks were all bumpy brick and cracked cement!

The Old North Church (the one with the laterns and Paul Revere's ride)

Another cool Cemetery, and some really old gravestones!
The gravestones below are the ones the are written about above.

When I die I really don't want a skull on my gravestone, I just needed that in writing.

We let Emma pick an animal at the aquarium gift shop...of course she wanted everything but she sucked on the penguin so that's the one she got.

The USS Constitution, was a battleship in the Civil War.

What a view!

We had lots of fun. We managed to get the 3 best days of the week, with lots of sun. Richard even found a little Peruvian restaurant in East Boston so he could get his ceviche fix. We enjoyed listening to the stereotypic Boston accent yelled in the streets. Emma had fun calling down to the concierge desk just to say "Hi" (our room in Boston had a seperate bedroom with a phone that Emma got a hold of without us knowing!). It was a great trip and we kept thinking about our family who has lived in the area at one time or another (Landon, Milo, Uncle Jay and Rock), Boston is still here and a great city to visit.

Fabulous post! You were in for the long hall, I love all the photos!! I thinks it so great that you guys explore around and visit while you're back there. From a hick that hasn't been east of Utah, I'm a little jealous and definitely living through you. So thanks!! :)

Man Emma is growing up! Starfish touching and picking her own toy. What a big girl!! Love you and can't wait to get together this summer.

Wow, that all looks absolutely amazing. I'm glad you took so many pictures to share with all of us that might never get the chance. How fun to spend time with Nicole and that sweet Jonas. He looks so dang cute.

I love the picture of Emma touching the starfish. She is getting way too big. I also love that she ultimately got the penguin after sucking on it! Haha!
