3 Months?!

I can't believe Nora is 3 months! I thought I should post some cute pictures I took on her 3 month mark. Nora is such a sweet baby! She loves to smile! But, she loves to talk to you even more. Emma wanted some of her stuffed animals to be in the photo shoot...
I'll hopefully do some more blogging soon...hopefully is the word!

All done!

Just a quick update for all you folks out there that wondered "what happened to the Adams fam?" Well this is what happened; we packed up our apartment on Friday afternoon and then Alan and Lavoy Key took the Uhaul Saturday morning. They now have all our belongings somewhere in the middle of the USA. I officially graduated today (Sunday) at a very small, intimate, and informal ceremony at Cornell in Ithaca. Just call me "Master Richard" now...here is a picture with proof.
We are now at the Residence Inn at Erie, PA. Tomorrow we hit up Kirtland, OH and stay the night in Joliet, IL. Tuesday we head to Nauvoo, IL and enjoy the day. Wednesday we are off to Sioux Falls, SD. Thursday we hit up Rapid City, SD. Friday we stay in Bozeman, MT. Saturday we finally make it to Ephrata, WA! Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

2 Months check up...

Nora is officially 2 months old! She is such a cute little thing; and, so far she is a great baby. She only cries when she is hungry or tired. She smiles all the time. And she can't wait to meet her extended family in Washington! So here are all three of the girls. Aren't they a cute bunch? Leisha took Nora to her two month check up today, and here are her stats (feels kind of like the back of a baseball card...): Length - 22.25 inches (50% ile) Weight - 10 lbs 3.5 oz (45% ile)

Montezuma and Kai-Lan

So the other day we decided to get out of the house and see a few more parts of NY that we haven't seen yet. Pretty close to Geneva is a wildlife refuge that has lots of birds (pretty famous for bald eagles) and wetland marshes. So we headed out to see the Montezuma wildlife refuge. It is really pretty. Emma and I checked out a pond filled with frogs while Nora ate. We decided to stay away from the animals after we saw this sign... Here is a veiw over the wetlands.
Another fun event was getting Emma a backpack. We were in Target getting some items when Emma saw the backpacks. She was really excited about the Ni hao Kai-Lan backpack. So we figured she could put all her toys in it (since I have packed most of them up for the drive). I have to say, she looks so ridiculously cute with the backpack on. She has it filled with the few toys that I haven't packed up. She loves to wear it around the house.
Doesn't she look old in this picture? Like she is ready to head off to school?

Happy Birthday Richard!

Today (May 14) is Richard's birthday! He's 27! He always asks me how old he is, I guess when you get to be as old as he is, you just can't remember things anymore...:)
I would like to share with cyberspace why I love Richard.
He is sarcastic! To the point were people give him a second look just to see if he is being sarcastic, but they still can't tell!
He has always let me be me...only he understands all that entails.
He is a great Dad! He loves his baby girls!
He is a hard worker.
He knows what he wants out of life and he wont stop tell he gets it.
He is a man with a plan! Trust me I know...I've traveled across the county enough times with him.
He loves to travel!!!
He has taken me places that I never dreamed I would go.
He makes me want to be a better person.
Their are so many more reasons why I love Richard, but seeing how it's 4 am I need to get back to bed.
Also, Richard is graduating from Cornell University with his Masters, on May 30th! He has worked hard to accomplish this. He is so excited to be done with school!
I love you Richard! Thank you for everything you do. Thank you for being you no matter what. Thank you for giving me two beautiful daughters! And for letting me be a stay at home Mom, it's my dream come true! You are my other half!
Happy Birthday!

Mommy's Day!!

This is my Mom! She's one hot thing isn't she! I wanted to write a post for my Mom so she can bathe in my love and appreciation for her on Mother's day.
I could go on and on about the wonderful qualities that my Mom has, but I think I'll sum this post up into a nice little package with what I think of whenever I spend time with my Mom. But before you read what I think every time I am with my mom, let me set the tone. When saying the sentence in your mind, say it with an admiration and wonder, say it in a unbelieving "this is way to good to be true", way...say it like you were a little girl who never knew your Mother, but found out that she was funny, witty, loving, and a complete and utter princess on earth...when you say it this way, then you know how I feel every time I spend time with my Mommy. "I can't believe she's my Mom!" I love you Mom! Happy Mothers Day! Love, Little Leisha

Mendon, NY!

Well yesterday we decided to do some more church sites. We hit up Hill Cumorah to have a little picnic and to take a quick picture of Nora and the Hill. Then we headed to Mendon.
First we have proof that Nora actually got out to "look" at the Hill Cumorah...
Mendon, NY is a very special place for Leisha's Grammi (unfortunately we never got to take her there!). The Young families started moving to Mendon from about 1826 to 1829. As we all know, Brigham Young is Leisha's great great great great great uncle and we wanted to see where he lived. One of the first stops we made was to the cemetery. Here are the graves of Miriam Works Young (Brigham's first wife) and Solomon F. Kimball (Heber C. Kimball's father and Spencer W. Kimball's great grandfather).
Just down the road from the cemetery are the home sites for Heber C. Kimball and John P. Green. Both of these men have connections to the Young family. Further down the road is the Tomlinson Inn. It was here that Phinehas Young (Brigham's brother) purchased a copy of the Book of Mormon from Samuel Smith (Joseph's brother and first missionary of the church!). It was his intent to find the flaws in the book. Well he didn't find any! And then the book circulated through the Youngs living in Mendon.
Just a short drive from the inn is the home of John Young (Brigham's father and Leisha's great great great great great grandfather). The picture shows Leisha pointing to the homes on either side of the street. Well they are both the home of John Young! At some unspecified point in time, the front half of the home was separated and moved to the north (the right side of the picture) side of the road. The two homes are owned by the church and we are pretty sure the missionaries live in the smaller portion on the right.
This was an awesome little trip and we plan on visiting a few more times before we move back to Washington. Maybe next time we will try to find the home site of Brigham!
